I totally have her trained...

I find that if I bark, give her this look, then drop a toy at her feet...she throws it every time...humans are soooo easy to train! :)

This one's pretty good...

I think I'll chew on this one for a while if you don't mind....

Monday...Monday

Everyday just keeps getting better! Missy is becoming more sharing except for supper time...it is during those times I have bonding time with Missy while Jax has time to enjoy his supper without Missy having a stroke that he might be eating all of the food that is left in the world and she might not get any...yes...she is a little too tightly wound sometimes...how do you teach a dog to take deep breaths and relax? :)

Jaxee found the bathroom trash today, and just a few moments ago I found him walking with a q-tip in his mouth taking it from the bathroom to a spot in my room...sneaky! I think I have been spoiled with Missy...she never bothers anything...it's all good...we are all learning so much about each other!

Sunday Supper!

Ohmygoodness! Sunday supper has been a tradition for quite some time now...and it was sooooooo much fun to take both the kids this week. Missy had quite the time showing off her new brother and checking on him when she hadn't seen him for a little bit. Jaxee was soooo excited to see everyone, and even raided their toy box! All the dogs (yes, all five of them) played and had a grand time!

When it was time for us to go home, I got Missy ready first cause sometimes she can be a little bit of a challenge to rangle up especially with all of the excitement from all the other dogs. Jaxee jumped down from where he was and made sure I didn't forget him...ahhhh, things that melt your heart! :)

Bonding time...

Jaxee went with me to the office and we had quiet the time! He sat on my lap as I keyed bills, ate a big bowl of food, played ball, and went on a car ride. He has perked up quite a bit today and is so happy to see me when I come in the door from taking the garbage out and he follows me around the apartment!

Missy and Jaxee are doing much better...they both had their seporate time together with me, and I think that has made all the difference. I just need to keep them on separate leashes on our walks!

Jaxee is permanently apart of our home as of tonight...welcome home, Jaxee, welcome home! :)

Now where did I put that toy?

next day thoughts

I think Missy has welcomed the idea of someone else in the apartment and doing very well with having company her size on our walks....er, well I think I might have spoken too soon.

Jax is starting to show slight signs of separation anxiety today. Missy did many of the same things the first few nights when she came to live with me. I can tell he feels safe in his bed, and I have given him lots of attention tonight. On the second walk of the evening, I carried him most of the way around the complex...I think Missy was starting to wear him out. He also barked like there was no tomorrow right around one of the buildings in the complex on both sides...still don't know why. Jax has already learned where our breezeway is, and he scratches on our door to help me unlock it (I think). No matter how exhausted the walk made him, he comes to life once we get inside, since he has learned that as soon as the leash comes off it is treat time.

Right now Jax is sleeping soundly in his bed, and Missy is napping close to him looking up every once in a while to check on Jax and to see where I am. Yes, a nap sounds like a good idea right about now...

First night impressions...

Jax and Missy both did really well their first night together. They played, ate supper, and by bedtime they were giving each other kisses. They even 'talked' to my Mom when I put her on speaker phone...too cute!

A New Home...

Missy (pictured bottom left) came to live with me three years ago. This week we are welcoming a new addition to our family, Jax (pictured left).

Welcome to our family, Jax! We are very excited you are coming to live with us!

Stay tuned for updates and pictures of our many adventures together!
